I was sand blasting today and noticed how the old paint had kind of burned off and was thinking I might get some of that high heat paint and see what it does. I think it only comes in black and wont match my Farmall Red but still it would be better than the cooked paint and rust.

Any thoughts on this? Or another idea?

Just wondering what the rest of yall do.

Try eastwoods manifold paint-looks good lasts well-I"ve never used it on a tractor but it holds up for car manifolds.

I had the exhaust manifold on my Cub powder coated (about $40) and it hasn"t changed a bit in several years.

I use the same paint as was on the rest of the tractor and let it burn off. To me manifolds are supposed to be rusty. The painted ones look overdone to me. I wouldn't paint it at all except the intake manifold is combined with the exhaust, the paint stays on it.

I have used the high temp barbecue paint with good results and I have even sprayed gloss black over the top of the barbecue paint and that seems to be working fairly well also. If you work the tractor hard, the paint will still burn off where the manifold is the hottest, but semms to hold up quite well on the area that is visible.

I've seen both Hi-temp black and silver.

I use dthe BBQ black on my allis chalmer G, and JD-B.. looks nice.. though after a few years it gets thin and needs to be re-coated. Warning.. I'm guessing it is mostly carbon dust.. so don't rub up against the paint.. it gets on everything.

Also.. Most of the pain I see says the item either needs to be oven cured.. or can be cured on the machine by running for 'x' time.. etc.
