Gentlemen,

Good day to you all.

You have have been real helpful to me in getting my JD 51 MT painted. It was painted late Oct 2006, and you suggested waxing it after 2-3 months after it cured. Here in SC Texas, it has been cooler and wetter than normal, thus i have had the tractor inside the shed most of the time. Does winter weather with temp's that vascilate between low 50's and mid 30's [nov - jan] still allow the paint to cure?

Whenever the weather has been nice, i have parked her in the sun and rotated her to face the sun. I do not want to wax or wash or anything until i know that paint is really cured.

Thanks and have a great day,
tstex

Should be fine now. Don't remember if what you used for paint but it still should be fine. As far as waxing is concerned , if you are waxing to get more shine , it won't happen. Wax just protects a finish , it does not make it shine any more. Sand paper , rubbing compound and polish are what to use to take out defects and make paint shine better. Hope this answered your questions.

B-Maniac,

Thanks...all i was trying to discern was if it was ok to wax [as in protection]...this will help repell water, reduce oxidation/condenstion while it is stored.

Appreciate your feedback.

regards,
tstex
