I use John Deere synthetic enamel paint, I was wondering if I could use clear coat on that type of paint? And do I do I add hardner, and what is the procedure?

Thanks in advance,

I don't know that there is such a product as synthetic enamel clear. Any other type of clear will be "hotter' than your jd paint and unless it is fully cured and sanded , will "eat" the surface of your paint. All clears that I know of have a catylist. Long story short , leave it alone or step up to a higher line system designed for clear coatings. What is it you are not happy with about your paint that you want to clear it??

I have seen guys paint over synthetic paints with clear. Its seems that they tried to cover problems and imperfections in the first attempt.Usually I see that they end up with lift, runs, dry areas and such. Not mention the clear pulling off in complete sheets over time. I say you Have 2 choices, 1) wet sand and buff or 2) 320 grit and do a re-shoot. Thats just my opinion, take it for what it is worth.
