IH 2150 Problem?

I painted a mess of parts yesterday and used my standard, IH 2150 with Case IH reducer 8:1. The paint flowed out like a mirror but when I went back hours later when it had dried about 90% the finish looked like it had small grains of sand in it. It isn't dust. It is uniform on all parts regardless of how they were hung on the paint rack. Anybody ever see this?? I've shot gallons of this stuff and never have seen this before.

It could be any number of things. If you have never seen it before, you either got a bad batch of paint or you did something different, or your painting conditions (temperature, humidity, etc) were different. The link covers about everything, my first suspect is solvent pop. I thought I had that problem, but mine turned out to be "dirt", more specifically lint -- have not completely solved that yet, but at least I know what it is.

CNKS, I cut the air and thinner back a little and increased the dry time for the tack coat and the problem went away. Problem is when you use the shotgun approach you can never be too sure which change fixed it but my money is on giving the first coat more time.
Thanks for the handy link.
