I have an engine block that has been welded on the side. They did a nice job and with a little grinding I can get the shape right. How do you guys finsh or paint the cast iron to make it look like cast iron and not a smooth spot. Hopefully one of you will have a trick!! Thanks

I have seen where people, after the welding is done, spread a thin layer of JB Weld on the area and then press a piece of sandpaper, with appropriate texture into the JB Weld to give it a rough surface. Good luck.

Take a good industrial type needle scaler to it until it has the roughness of the surrounding cast.
