Anybody have any experience with Valspar brand paints, carried by Tractor Supply. Its oil based, thinned by naptha or mineral spirits. This last weekend I brush painted it on some of the rough cast parts of my "65 Ford 3000. I figured I"d have better luck with a brush getting into tight spots where my spray gun wouldn"t fit. I was surprised how well the paint flowed, hard to tell on the cast that it wasn"t sprayed. After it cures a few days I plan to scuff it and top with clear coat.

Question: Anybody every use it with a spray rig on smoother sheet metal parts; hood, etc? How"d it turn out, especially when top coated with clear?

Thanks

Here is my 5000 with TSC/valspar /bps ford blue

I sprayed my cast and sheetmetal. I brush painted my rear hubs.

Mine also used hardner.

If you didn't use hardner.. I'm not sure how long the cure time will be. I also did not clear coat mine.

My paint was done in november 2005.. still looks like the day i painted it. I keep it under a tube frame tarp shade that is open on the sides.
