This topic has been discussed many times. However, I still need some clarity. Has anyone developed a schematic or plan to determine which bolts were originally painted, and which were left bare? I know most say that sub-assemblies were painted as a whole, then assembled and those bolts were left bare. I guess my question is WHICH bolts were, and WHICH were not. Figure someone in the great big world has come across this. Thanks

Ask the question on the proper forum, Farmall, JD, etc. There is no general rule. But, most tractors were painted after nearly complete assembly. Unless a bolt head is zinc or cadmium plated, etc, it will rust.
