I'll add my $.02

like the others have said, the best paint depends on you,

The best paint for my antique tractors to ME is:

a single stage urethan from a major manufacture over the same major manufacture's epoxy primer as per that manufactures instructions.

what I happen to use on my last project a Allis G
was PPG. I was able to get the color I wanted in ppg easier than in dupont at that time. In the ppg I went with the more expensive concept line, I had better luck with the concept line over ppg's omni line. Omni works excellent for others, I am not a painter and feel it was more that particular color in omni than the Omni line being my problem. I like the urethans becuase they are durable and I can sand and buff out the crap that gets in my paint projects. I paint in a large garage and end up with dirt specs in my sheet metal. I have a fresh air mask to help protect me from the iso's. I have used and liked paint from Napa (sherman williams), Dupont and PPG. The only stuff I haven't liked has been CNH, John Deere and Tisco brands. Now I'm told CNH and John Deere have new paint now. Does that information help? Good luck

The factory color on your H was IH 50. Far as I know it must be mixed, not available premixed. IH 2150 which appeared in 1961 is the oldest red sold by Case-IH. Any other premixed brand is a crap shoot. Even 2150 is not the same color as the original 2150. As to quality, in increasing order: alkyd enamel, acrylic modified alkyd enamel, acrylic enamel, urethane.

The word "best" is a very powerful word. It will/has caused some very heated "discussions" on these forums. I can tell you that "best" is very expensive , requires supplied air respirator , extensive training and more than likely is not really what you are really asking for. If you are asking what's best for YOUR particular application and use , which I believe you are , then you need to give us YOUR requirements of the finished paint job. Price , intended use , equipment to be used , intended spraying environment , skill level of person spraying , time line , finish longevity , etc, etc. They make so many diff. paints because there are so many diff. requirements. Be more specific and I believe you will then get the info you requested from many helpers on this forum. Thank you and good luck.
