I ended up stretching out a field cultivator to get some trash clearance. The things you do when your poor. We've got every thing apart and are sandblasting the brackets for the shank assemblies. We needed to go thru and replace some bushings or we probably wouldn't have done all this. Question, I'm using epoxy primer and urethane paint simply because that's all I use any more. Can I just get buy with one heavier coat of primer and one good coat of color. I'm assuming all IH did when it came from the factory was throw some enamel on half rusty metal and called it good enough. As far as the frame it's paint wise in not too bad of shape. I was going to sandblast it also but the weather just isn't cooperating. Can a guy just go over all the old paint with a wire brush on a grinder and shoot a good coat of epoxy over that. If we run into some rust we would have to sandblast those places. I don't want to stick a whole bunch of time and money into something that will only go down in price. It will do what we need it to do for the next several or more years but when we're done with it there isn't much of a market for 26' field cultivators anymore.

Thanks, Greg

#1 rule of thumb.. Primer is primer. Used only so paint will stick. Use enough paint.
