Okay...Got a 20 that is going to get shot with 35 Flint Gray Metallic paint. Got the various paint codes for PPG, DuPont, Napa, S-W, and BASF. Went down to the tractor shop and picked up an AGCO spray bomb of Flint Gray Metallic and it came out near silver in comparison to a paint chip of DuPont/PPG. Rustoleum has "Hammered Gray" that is very, very close and can be smoothed out with a spray gun and a bit of "Fish-Eye" remover. Rustoleum is not a hardened paint and I am leery of paint durability at least. The paint store wanted $175.00 for a quart of paint, primer, hardener etc etc....Ouch!
Yes, I am doing this in the back/side yard inside a tent at best. I would like to find a cost effective solution somewhere between Rustoleum and $175.00 worth a a quart of paint. I am also going to be using the official Harbor Freight spray gun. No expense spared there! LOL.
