Are any of you familiar with the Sharpe Finex brand of spray gun? How is the final paint quality? Also what is the difference between the tip size?

Good Morning, I have the full size finex as well as the touchup size. Some of the early models had packing issues, but that has been fixed. Its of somewhat higher quality then the devilbiss starting line series, and it its well factory supported. a 1.3 or 1.4 fluid nozzle will spray all your single stage AE's, alkyd, and synthetic enamels. They do produce a nice finish especially if you keep the cap pressure below 10.

I had bought a Finex about three years ago and had major problems with the packings in the gun. It worked fine for two jobs and that was it. It was not a very expensive gun, but I figured that I had used Sharpe guns with no problems, but this one did not fly. It might have just been that gun. Check with the others out here and see what they have to say. As for tip size 1.3-1.4 is what you are looking for in a gun for base/clears, sealers and enamels. Basically the bigger the tip the more paint you are gonna blow through. As I said before on this site, I do own a gun with a 2.0 tip that I will let neighbors use when they want to borrow a gun. They end up using a gallon of paint where the 1.3 sata will use a quart. DO NOT USE A 2.0 TIP FOR PAINT. You will end up fighting the whole job. You will find yourself with runs and then counteracting and ending up with dry spots. You will never get even coverage
