Hi guys-I painted a home built tractor with Valspar oil base paint with hardener and do not like the color.I want to repaint it with a darker color.How long do I have to wait?Thanks

Probably any time, be sure to scuff it first. Some paints have a window in which they can be repainted without preparation, I don't know what Valspar's is. If your paint was fully cured, you could seal it and use about anything. Since it probably isn't, you should probably use more of the same type paint. Others may have other opinions.

If it was painted very recently, you may be able to just spray a mist coat then a full coat over it with no other prep. Otherwise you need to wait for full cure and then scuff sand it.

I would stick with the same paint, but get the color you want. Much less worry.

Give it at least a month. Stay with same brand. Scotchbrite for adhesion. This time SPRAY A TEST PANEL BEFORE you do the unit!!! MURPHY'S LAW is alive and thriving in the paint bussiness!!!
