I hate to start a new thread but I didn't figure my question would be answered in the old so here it goes. My results for the base clear were great with the exception of a few things. First off the clear runs pretty easy but I wanted to make sure I didn't get any dry spots. So I took them out with 1000-1500 and they are gone. My major problem is after I clear I noticed a spot or town on a cuve in the fuel tank when the base is thin and you can see my surfacer under the paint. I didn't get full coverage with my 3 coats. What do I do now. Remember it has been cleared and it is 3 days old now. Do I hit it with 220 and try to blend it or do I have to take the whole thing all the way down to the primer? tHanks for you suggestions

select a break off line on the tank, ie the seam would be a good spot, then wet sand the tank above the line with 320 or 400, wipe down with pre cleano or prep sol, tack rag it, tape it off and then re shoot the the tank to your break off line. if you havent blended before, its a lot easier to do it this way. you dont need to sand down thru, you just need to rough up the clear so the paint can bite in.

I agree with glennster on the cure , but if you applied 3 coats of base and still have thin spots then somethings very wrong in your procedure or product. How do you know your clear is covering sufficiently???
