Tell us exactly what your procedure was and what products you used and we can probably tell you how to best get it to shine.

Many causes for dull luster. Too little paint. Rough undercoat. Fast or too much reducer. Paint type. Spraying technic. If you applied enough, it can be polished. Wax does nothing but contaminate.

Unless you are using a 2 stage base coat / clear coat system you may have some more work.

A single stage epoxy has to be sprayed on thick enough to completely flow out. If it is sprayed too "dry" it is going to be powdery and very dull.

To correct, you can try wet sanding with 1000 grit, then 1500 then buffing it out with many stages of compounding.

Or just hit it with 400 grit by hand and respray.

One thin light mist "tack" coat to give a base for the paint to stick to, then a second full thickness color coat to completely cover. Try different gun settings on some scrap to get a feel for what they do. My guess is that you had the air turned up too high and the paint too low (maybe too thick, too).

Good luck and keep learning!
