I'm preserving a 1970 mf 135. I bought mf dealer paint, acrylic enamel ($50 a gallon). Primed with red oxide primer and sprayed with paint reduced according to directions on the can. After three or four days I could press litely on the surface with my finger nail and indent the paint. Took a full seven days to get hard enough to where a finger nail wouldn't indent the paint. So.....I went to NAPA and bought napa brand hardner for acrylic enamel. $17 and change per pint. I haven't been able to find the data sheet for the hardner. The guy in napa said 4 ounces per gallon, but I think he knows about as much as I do. (which is just from reading the post). Speaking of reading the post, all the guys in the know say use hardner. My mistake for not listening....I know, I know..... .I have a $60 campbell hasfield gun, running it at 40 psi. Temp in the area, until recently has been running low to mid 80's with humidity 60 to 80%. I've been trying to spray in early to mid afternoon with bright sun light. How much of this stuff do I really need to add assuming the above conditions? Not looking for show quality, but would like to get the best results I can considering it's an out of doors barn yard job. Really a presevation not a restoration. Thanks, Bill in TN
