I just brought home a Ford 841?? diesel tractor. The first letter/number of the serial number is gone. The previous owner replaced the tin with what appears to be correct and painted it blue. Is the tractor supposed to be blue and grey or red and grey? Any pictures of a restored tractor will be very helpful.
Thanks, Robert

HTS; If you do a search of the archives you can come up with the proper paint codes for your tractor. If you go to the Ford forum and do a search, "bradbb" lists the paint codes for PPG paint. It depends on what you want to do, i.e. restore, repaint etc. and what type of paint you want to use. CNH sells some paint that is relatively inexpensive and is supposed to be the original color. This forum has a lot of good advice from experts in the field. Hope this helps. Have fun with you tractor.

I think this one is close to correct. Just has 801 decals instead of 841.

OHH baby that looks nice. Thank you very much for the picture. I have a bit of work to do. The emblem on the front, does it read "841"? And I found a place for the decals. Is the red and grey the same red and grey as on a 8N? I know that is alot of questions but I sure thanks you for your help. Robert

First off this is not my tractor,I only wish that mine looked this good. My drive train had been painted blue by a PO and painted red over that and flaking. The orginal 8n red was a darker red but I think the gray was the same. The emblem has no model number just a Ford Emblem with wheat.Made of plastic and glued to alum I would guess. My plastic is missing.

Thanks again for your help. I used to restore old tractors then quite for the last ten years. Mainly N tractors and a few Case CO's. I am looking forward to getting back into it. Most of my old contacts have left the area, died or went out of busniess. Any suggestions on web sites for late 50's early 60's Ford tractors?
Thanks again, Robert
