I have a sears G.T. 19.9 (circa mid 1970s) which is in nice shape but has been brush painted. I want to restore this garden tractor in memory of my late father-in-law to show quality. It has a 20 H.P. onan eng. and the orig. cross link deck lift mech. Does anyone know the paint code for the off yellow paint? ( A Dupont paint code, if poss.) Mod.# 8(or9)17257080 Ser.#1458B05540. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Ron,
I don't have a paint code for you but you may want to try checking on the "Vintage Sears Garden Tractor" web site. The address is www.geocities.com/sware56920
Good luck,
Tim

Here's something you might try: If there is an automotive paint supply place near your area, you might ask if they have thecomputerized paint matching tool! It is a box-like machine. About 6" by 3" by 3". They run it over the paint you want matched, and it gives them enough info so they can mix up a color as close as they can get it! I've done that several times with my cars, when i didn't have the code, or they had been painted early on by somebody else. Made a good match.
