i tow my m occasionally behind my pickup. i have a towbar made from an old wagon tongue. it bolts to two ears on the front lower bolster, and its hinged. i dont tow over 10 miles an hour. tractor has the bush hog on the back, and i mow at the other farm about 6 miles away. that way i have the truck there in case i break down, get stuck, or get a flat.

I had intended to buy a tractor last friday and tow it home. It would have been about 40 miles. I took an air compressor and ten gallons of Hytran with me. I did not get it.
The only suggestion I recieved about my post, was not to go faster than the tractor was designed to operate at.

Backwards? How do you plan to make any turns? Let me know where you are going so I can stay out of the way. Good luck with your tow, do it from the front!

First off I think that this post belongs in another section, but oh well.

In regards to towing, it will depend on the tractor. I have heard of issues when trying to tow JDs, but have seen an oliver towed about 10 miles with no obvious problems.
