How do you guys keep bugs out of your paint jobs. I paint in a garage with the door up and they always get in the paint. I am using hardener and want more air. Plus a little more light helps. P.S Is there anything I have to know before using hardener in my paint?

Lucas,
Try to paint in the morning as the bugs are worse in the afternoon and at night of course.Air moving
from cooling and exhaust fans helps too.

The most important thing about using hardner in your paint is that to be safe you need an air
supplied respirator as hardners contain isocynates which can cause you many problems. The
use of cartridge type respirators is not recomended by any paint maker as they are not good enough to protect you even outside spraying
with paints containing hardners.

I know of several places to get an air supplied
system and they cost around $400.00.I bought one
with a paint hood and also a sandblast hood, what
a joy to have fresh air and no fogging when I am
working on my tractors.E-mail me for more info.

Joe

Try adding 2K accelerator as well as hardener, about 10% mixed in seems to make paint go off much quicker than without, so bugs, grit etc do not stick to it.

Will a bug-zapper help?
