MIX ONE BOX OF CORN STARCH INTO A GALLON OF WATER, THEN ADD A CAN OF DRAIN OPENER WHILE STIRRING. AN EXOTHERMIC REACTION WILL TAKE PLACE AN HEAT UP THE MIXTURE CONSIDERABLY. THIS IS WHAT THICKENS THE WATER/CORNSTARCH MIXTURE LIKE WHEN YOU MAKE GRAVY. I ALWAYS END UP WITH AN EXTRA THICK GRAVY THAT I HAVE TO WATER DOWN WHICH AIN'T BAD. YOU MIGHT ADD THE DRAIN CLEANER MORE GRADUALLY WHERE IT DOESNT HEAT UP SO FAST. DONT WORRY ABOUT TRYING TO FIND LYE, STORES ARE SCARED TO STOCK IT FOR FEAR OF SUPPLYING SOME METH LAB. WALMART HAS A DRAIN OPENER IN THE PLUMBING DEPT. IN A RED PLASTIC JAR. ITS NOT THAT DANGEROUS, I'VE HAD MY ON MY HANDS WITH NO PROBLEMS, BUT YOU WOULDNT WANT TO GET IT IN YOUR EYES OR OTHER TENDER PARTS. OF COURSE KEEP IT OUT OF REACH OF THE KIDS. BY THE WAY, I'VE FOUND THAT ONE OF THOSE BLACK PLASTIC 1 GAL PAINT BUCKETS WITH A LID WORKS GREAT FOR MIXING AND STORAGE. GOOD LUCK AND HAVE FUN!!! BLIND HAWG.
