Dont laugh guys, I see this all the time in shops, mostly when they are doing little spot repairs. 50% of the body shops I am in still spray their 2k primers in the open shop with out suits or masks. I only have 3 shops out of over a hundred that have fresh air systems. This includes all size shops and dealerships. I dont recommend this, but its the norm.

I still get shivers thinking about how we used to paint a vw bug with 3 quarts of Dupont Dulux which we put directly on an electric hot plate to thin it down. It made the "factory" orange peel effect but we could have burned the shop down!

Yeah, i found one of those old paint heaters in one shop i worked in. I tried it and it really worked good, and made the final coat look really great! but, it scared the boss, so out it went! Alas and alack!

I bet it's a great way to get a 'tan' look, not to mention some free hair coloring.

I still remember when my wife came back from overseeas for a month trip and asked my if i had been primering any of my tracors.. I asked why.. she said she say lots of grey showing up on the sides of my head.. I smirked and walked away..and said.. NO.. unfortunately!
