A sheet of 80 grit wet and dry, a hard rubber sanding block, and a water hose. You can remove a lot of paint in a short time and keep the surface flat and smooth. Finish up with 120 and prime. If the pits were painted well and have not bubbled the above shoud give you a good smooth area to put good paint on.

Hi Pat; Assuming the pits are not deep,as a suggestion, you could scuff everything, do your body work to satisfaction, then epoxy and follow with a sandable surfacer primer, then top coat or as some, hit it again with the epoxy and then top coat. The surfacer would take care of the pits. Just a though to reduce the work.

Hi Pat; why do you want to remove all the paint? Where is the pitting? In the paint or do you have some rust pits? Did you get rid of all the rust the first time you painted it? You have several choices for paint removal. You can use a chemical stripper, sandblast, soda blast, or you can sand it off (which I wouldn't recommend as if you're not careful can remove alot of metal). If you have a good sandblaster in the area who knows how to blast sheet metal he can remove the paint and rust and some of the bondo. A stripper will remove the bondo with several applications.

Chemical stripping is a messy and tedious way to do it, but is doable.

Soda blasting works well because it does not cause the heat an potential warping that sand blasting will. I had my Ford 850's hood and fenders sandblasted with no problems.

Hope this gives you some ideas.
