We are looking for original or as close to original fenders for the Ford 800. We have found two different model numbers F4000Fen and C5NN16312AA. What is the difference between the two? Is there one that is more original that the other?

There is a difference in the height of the mounting brackets. I am currently restoring an 871 ford demonstrator and have encountered this problem(see pictures on my website). The tin is the same, however the mounting bracket is flush to the bottom of the fender on the 800; and the bracket is 4 inches taller on the 801 fenders...

I don't have the coordinating part numbers on hand but do be aware of this while shopping for the fenders you need.

Hello Slick;

The numbers you give do not correspond to my parts manual. In checking the NH Parts site there is not C5NN16312AA listed. There is a C5NN16313AR but it is for a 801 series tractor.
I'm not familiar with the F4000Fen. Are these numbers from an after market web site or catalogue?

The original 800 fenders are difficult to find. The best locations are tractor salvage yards and occasionally you'll see them on e-bay.

At the present I do not know of any aftermarket fender being made of the original design for the 800. After market suppliers do sell a fender that they say will fit an 800, but it is of the 801 design. The 800 was made from 1955 through 1957. The fenders for these years were all the same except for the mounting frame. In 1955 the frame consisted of two uprights that were tied together by a flat piece of steel. The 56-57 frames consisted of three uprights.

I have heard that the 800 fenders are or will be in production, but I have not seen them or been able to locate a supplier.

I tried to post some photos of the three fenders but ran into some difficulty. If you will go to the Ford Forum and do a search of the archives using "Ford 800 fenders" as the query there are some posts about them. Jim UT has links to photos showing the fenders. Or, seeing your e-mail is open I'll send them to you.

To get the correct fender you'll need the year and model of the tractor, i.e. utility or row crop.

Hope this helps.
