I purchased a ford 3000 a couple months ago and I have to put new fenders on it, I found a couple ford blue but they are a shade to dark or a shade to light. What was the name of the ford 3000 paint, it is a 1967.

Oh hell, find you a paint store that sells industrial paint by the gallon for heavy equipment. You shoot it straight, no thinner, hardener optional. Much less expensive than OEM paint. It also dries quicker, flows smoother, and has anti-rust properties and is glossy. I paint my Ford fenders and wheels pure white. Guess how many of my customers have complained that the fenders and wheels were not gray enough. If you said one you would be 100% wrong. These same paints come in several shades of blue. Just pick one that's close to the OEM Ford color and paint the stupid tractor. I've made a good living at it for 25 years and never, NEVER, had a complaint from anybody. I'll tell you something, surface preparation is one heck of a lot more important than getting an exact color match when doing quality work. And the most important part of surface preparation when painting these older tractors is killing the rust. If you don't kill the rust before you spray, you're wasting your time and cheating your customer. The rust will bleed back through the paint in a short time. You've got to sand off as much of the rust as you can, then saturate the surface with several coats of rust converter. Then you're ready to paint.
