Can someone recomend some paint products and actual color numbers for the Red and Silver on a TO35. I want a tough and longlasting finish that will be outside quite a lot. A red that is a little richer or darker might weather better plus I dont like it to look orangey or faded. I also need a name and product info on a primer probably an epoxy or 2 part system that will not cause intercoat adheasion problems with the top coat. Scratch resistance is a big factor for me also as I seem to go out of my way to hit limbs, they dare me to go under them. A real stripper that works well and is available would be nice. I have worked with Imeron automotive paints before but not sure how well it would handle this type of abuse. Also is it necessary or advised to give the metal both sheet metal and cast iron a light sand blast after chemical stripping?

I know nothing about MF colors -- the link is courtesy of Rod(NH). Ask on the MF board for specific MF codes. Epoxies such as PPG Omni MP 170 will work fine, followed by Omni MP 182 surfacer (supplied air required for the surfacer). Equivalents from any major brand are ok. You will not find any paint that is resistant to tree limbs, or even minor scratches for that matter, as such paints don't exist. Don't sandblast the sheet metal, sand with 180 and clean with a wax and grease remover after all bodywork is done. If you sandblast the cast, sand will get in every place you don't want it. I sandblast only parts that I remove from the tractor and wire wheel the rest. A stripper containing methylene cholride is fine, available at any automotive store.
