Do yourself a favor and also get a respirator from the NAPA dealer. That old lead paint and the dust from blasting will cause you problems. Real blasting companies have forced air for the operator, a little pricey for most of us, but some protection is a good idea.

Don't waste your $$ on gravity feed. If your compressor won't handle a pressure blaster then use combination of chemicals and wire wheels or hire it done.

I recommend a pressurized blaster and lots of reserve air. My compressor is a sears 7.5 hp with an 80 gallon tank. The blaster I have is from northern tools. I have sandblasted several tractors and have been happy with the results. I did a lot of prep work, either by removing parts or protecting with duct tape or other means and just being careful. I have blasted several other implements down to the metal, like a vanbrunt ff drill, #25 jd combine, #5 jd sickle, #290 jd planter, #45 jd loaders x 2, jd kba disc, jd 3bottom disc/plow. The results have been great as all rust and scale is removed and bolts are cleaned. I have done many wheels too. You have to learn to not do too much at one time or your compressor will run constantly and get low on pressure and you can get moisture in the air/sand from blasting too long. Have a blast!

Hi Jeff; As an alternative to sandblasting, I used a wire wheel on an angle grinder for the cast parts and some smaller parts. You'd be surprised how easy the old paint came off. I had the sheet metal sandblasted. A word of caution here. Make sure the fellow who does it knows what he is doing. Sandblasting can warp the metal. I then followed with a oil and wax remover and epoxy primer.

Some suggest oven cleaner and a power washer to remove the paint. If you do a search in the archives you'll find this topic discussed as well as sandblasting a tractor.

One question you need to answer is how far do you want to go? Were you going to remove the sheet metal and any parts that might hide rust?

The experts say that the key to a good and lasting paint job is preparation. I've found that to be very true.

I did use over cleaner several times and it can only get off some of the paint...about 40-50 %..that is now why im interested in sandblasting. I have everything removed from the tractor now, except the engine

Hi Jeff; As you probably know, the areas of concern are entrances to the engine, trans, hyd., differential axle bearings etc. I have read that if you can seal these very, very well and are careful not to breach those areas, then sandblasting is an option.

As was noted, one thing that is required is a large air compressor. I have an 80 gallon that I use with a small pressurized blaster. It works hard if I do much blasting. Whatever you decide, have a great time. Once you are done, you'll have something to be proud of..

Don't sandblast an intact tractor, you will get sand every place you don't want it. But, the answer to your question is no. The thing is way too small, and as in the other post you need one that is pressurized, and a BIG compressor.

Not familiar with that particular one, but the only one I have used is slow, slow and slower. Depending on what size compressor you have I would recommend a pressureized sand blaster. If your compressor is less than 15-18 CFM@90 PSI, any of them are going to be fairly slow.
