I should be ashamed of my Christmas gift and take it back?

Walmart under 60 bucks.

Don't think so. Look at all the fun I will have correcting all the mistakes the guns will cause.
I won't be the blame for any thing. It will be the guns fault. (:^D

I bought the same set up at lowes last year. I like that small gun for tight places except it runs out of paint quick. Happy painting.

I may have to swing by NAPA and get some chip samples and see what they look like.

Have no idea what I will use for paint, have a few auto body dealers here and will check with them as far as brands they carry.

I think I have read almost every post in the archives in this forum and am just as confused as when I started lol! Will go with the epoxy primer for sure and the surfacer I think.

As I get closer I will try and get a consensus of what paint color code to use. I guess as long as it purty red it will be fine
This prep is kicking my a$$, years of caked on grease & grime is slowing me down. Think I will split the trans housing from the driveshaft housing and take the 2 pieces outside to blast them clean. Getting tired of wire brushing.

the paint napa handles is pretty good stuff. you can use a single stage urethane, i think its their crossfire line. over on the i-h board i posted a few paint codes for a guy for ppg dbu.i checked on our shop mixing system, and crossed them over. the most common is I-H 2150, the ppg cross is cms 8287a, then you can go to cms-8335k, just a wee bit darker red, then there are three option mixes, the first is option 40, darker red, then option 45 darker and blue, then option 48 which is darker and red!! the paint store will have color chips to match the formulas, so you can see what it will look like.

Oh sure Glennster, wait till I already bought that DeVillbis set from TP tools before you post this deal
Hoping to be ready to paint by the end of the month, been blasting and scrubbing parts. Have all the materials for my "booth" except for the exhaust fan.

the devilbiss is a good gun randy, you should be real happy with it. normally, i would mention to keep the gun clean, but, dang, judging from how clean your shop is, you're gonna keep that gun sparklin'.what kind of paint are you gonna shoot the old girl with?

Funny you should mention that set. After reading the posts below I decided to bite the bullet and buy a HVLP gun. I found the same set at TP tools on sale for $89. Just ordered it about and hour ago. I have been lurking on this forum for a while and hope to get into some larger painting projects soon. So I may be back for advise. (BTW, I also order a resperator when I ordered my spray guns.)

our paint rep mentioned it when he was in this morning, so i looked at it and though it would be a good starter gun set for anybody wanting to get into painting. they are decent guns, and with a little practice should give good results. when you get your respirator, keep it in a big zip lock bag or, i use a new empty 1 gallon paint can. the charcoal in the respirator with absorb chemicals from the shop if left out in the open.
