I bought a FARMALL 130, at least that's what it says on the hood. The engine is a C123 which I
thought went on a 140 and the serial no.is
18501J which I can't match up. What have I got?

Stewart: Definitely not a 130, 130 serial numbers ended at 10209. 100 and 130 sheet metal are the same and 100 tractors last serial number was 18940, so 100 is quite possible. 100 should have Z, A or B date codes. The engine block part number for a 100 should be 354898 R3 if the engine is original.

It could be a 140 however the sheet metal would be quite different. 140 serial number 18501 would have H or I date codes and the engine block number should be 367825 R1 or R2.

The engine is correct, was first used on the Super A1, two models back. Serial numbers are to your left under research and info. However your serial is too high for it to be a 130. See if you can read the model number off the tag, it will precede the serial. You also might look at the pictures in Tractor Photos, sheet metal on the 130 is different from the SA, 140 is distinctly different from the 130.
