Just a little "heads-up" for a lot of the DIY and hobby body/painters out there. Twenty five percent of the products on the shelf at the local body/paint supply store fall under the catagory of bandaid , crutches and/or cheater bars. They are marketed as "life support" for the people who either don't , won't or can't read label or tech data sheets , people who are intent on mixing and matching brands and those who have done it for a while and just think they can test the limits and "cheat" off some time and materials to keep costs down. How do you know which products these are??? Ask ask and ask some more. Read , read and read some more. Some of the most experienced painters can be the most guilty of product abuse and short cutting so try to cover a cross section of auto body collision / auto restoration / customizing / truck and tractor restorers and hobby painter/restorers. We must all reallize there are people who spend thousands of $ and 4-6 yrs in college training to sell a product or service to another person who not only doesn't need it but probably can't afford it either. There's not one of us who hasn't been a victim of this "profesionalism" at one time or another. Not trying to play "consumer advocate" but I will vote for Ralph this fall. Consumer fraud and malicious marketing might just have to find a new country to victimize. That's my "rant" and I'm stickin' to it.

?? This messages is a tad devoid of specifics.. I'm still trying to figure out exactly wht you are mad at?

Are you talking about things like addatives for fish-eye's.. etc. IE.. a crutch for those that don't adequately clean thei workpieces / places ?

Not mad. Just trying to say "beware" , just because it is on the shelf doesn't mean it has a ligitimate use and in the wrong hands may just screw the job up worse. As for the self serving "marketers" and "sales profesionals" in this country , well, just look where their barely legal and even less moral antics have led the country today. I reallize irresponsible spending on the part of some have contributed also but when simply BELIEVING what a so called "professional" tells one ends up in forclosure , repossession or worse then we are all in trouble. We won't even go into the falsified pay stubs and w-2's etc that some of these "people" use to get financing approved. Bottom line : I am disguisted that the "knieving" are screwing the "trusting" everyday and the taxpayer supported "watchdogs" put in place to prevent it are just asleep in their houses scratching their flees and counting their "shut-up" money.
