I am restoring a M. I belive did something wrong. Primed wet sanded with 400 painted color wanted. Looked good at this point. Clear coated then wet sanded with 2000. Finally buffed with some rubbing compond. It does shine a bit more. There seems to be a bit of a haze though. I rubbed all the compound thought was there. Any ideas?

It is difficult to tell a person how to paint on this forum, too many variables. You need to understand the differences between paints, and know what you are using and why. Buffing, although it sounds easy, it isn't, particularly on a tractor with all the nooks and crannies. I speak from experience on that. Eastwood Corp. sells a video on buffing. It has things in it you would never think of yourself and things others won't tell you either. I suggest you go to their web site and order the video. If you have never painted before (I don't remember all your posts) you are jumping into this too fast -- it is not easy unless you have a lot of experience.

what type of clear? did you use heavy cut, lite cut and swirl mark remover compounds? here are a few of the buffing compounds and pads we use at the shop, start with the heavy pad, heavy compound, switch up to a medium or lite cut compound and pad, then finish with your swirl mark remover. from there you can go with a hand glaze like mequiars show car glaze.
