So what is the reccomended way to apply paint to a tractor. I am guessing spray gun, and if so, what is the reccomended pressure and type of sprayer to use?

Steven, I don't know about the "recommended way", but the best looking results are usually obtained with spray equipment.
~The recommended pressure depends on the gun, type of paint, type of reducer, your spray habits & the weather.
~The type of spray gun [sprayer] depends on the air output of your compressor [some of the cheaper HVLP guns can use over 15 cfm], your finances & type of gun you are familiar with. ~A good gun can run over $450.00 & a cheap gun can run a cheap as $25.00. Within reason the more the gun costs the better the it will spray paint. The more exotic the paint, usually the better the gun needed to put it on with decent results. Some of the cheaper synthetic enamels can be sprayed with a cheaper gun & will lay out flat enough to look decent.....
