John, if you are talking older ACs (30's-50's), the Krylon 1820 Allis Chalmers Orange is a really close match to the correct Persian Orange #1. I believe the TSC AC paint is more like Persian #2 used in the 60's. Krylon, which seems to be good quality for spray can paint, also has other tractor colors in their implement series but I have no personal experience with them.

I don't think there is any high quality spray paint (in spray cans if that's what you mean). If you are thinking about touching up a tractor where it shows, it may not match, but you may get lucky. Other than that your Case/IH dealer has IH red. Farm Supply stores such as Tractor Supply have paints for most tractor brands.

I just wanted to know if anyone knew of a better spray paint than the stuff TSC sells. Occasionally I need to paint a bolt that I've replaced, touch up a scratch, etc., on my tractor or an implement. It's not show quality but it looks pretty good. Is the OEM paint any better? Does any paint supply place carry something thats better? Thanks JSB

If that's all you want to do, then try a couple of different ones. I don't know if the OEM paint in rattle cans is better that that sold by TSC. However the paint in the gallon cans is better. Its just that I've never seen a rattle can paint (or touch up paint for cars for that matter) that matches. For small spots or bolts etc, its probably ok.

It ain't quick but... Northern Hydraulics sells a 10 oz pressure can that you pour paint, oil, or anything you want to spray into and then pressurize with a compressor. I've used mine for lubrication and it works ok. If you want an exact match and have the time to mix small batches of paint it should work. Anybody tried it? Dick
