Anyone use NAPA 'CrossFire' Paint? It's supposed to be a cheap Martin Senour paint. It is quite a bit cheaper--$40.49 per quart for Martin Senour Acrylic Enamel versus $16.49 for the CF. I'm restoring an Oliver 88 and was wondering if this stuff would work. Thanks.

I just used Crossfire on my S55. It turned out okay, haven't noticed any chipping on it. I used an HVLP setup, with hardener, and a forced air breathing system. Make sure you use one! Only get one set of lungs.

I have used the paint and was not satified with it even with hardner it chips easy is hard to paint runs very easy hard to get a good gloss. I have switched to PPG Omini and this paint is great.

I am not particularly familiar with the Martin Senour line but do understand that they have an "economy" line called CrossFire. I suspect it is similar, competitively, with the OMNI and NASON economy lines of PPG and DuPont respectively. My guess is that it would work just fine for you. I do recommend that you get the product data sheet for the exact type of paint in the CrossFire line that you intend to use and follow it to a "T". Both the product data sheets and the MSDS for the particular materials are available on line at the link below.
