I am using Tisco Tractor/Impliment paint in Massey Furgeson Silver Mist Grey. Cutting it with NAPA 8860 (I think). It is spraying on beautifuly and looks great. The problem is that after two weeks, I can still scratch it with my finger nail. I have heard of using hardeners, but don't know what kind. The guy at Tisco customer service said I would not need any hardeners. Any suggestions?

You said "scratch it with a finger nail." If by that you mean you can just deface the surface slightly, that is normal for unhardened paint. If however you mean you can actually dig out a small portion of the paint and leave a hole then your paint has not cured and it is not likely to after 2 weeks.

If it was my tractor I would remove the previous paint job, seal and repaint with the same paint using a small amount of hardener in the paint. DO NOT try to paint with activated paint over the top of unactivated paint. You are asking for trouble as both paint jobs will curddle or "lift" as we call it.

There is another old trick you MIGHT try. Sand the paint with 600 grit wet or dry paper until all gloss is removed. Let the paint set and dry for several days. Then follow sanding with 1000 grit then 1200-1800 grit and then buffing with a mild buffing compound.

Sanding with the 600 will help to release any trapped solvents still in the paint and may help the drying process. The worst thing you will do is waste a little time and sandpaper should the process not help.
