Does anyone know the right color paint for a M5? I've been told Prairie Gold #2, Power Yellow and Energy Yellow. What would be the right one and what would be the PPG orDupont code. Also what is the code for the metalic brown used on the motor? Thanks for any help. Jason

Jason,

You can't go too far wrong following Bill's advice and calling Dennison Auto, those boys know their MM paint. You might try going to www.minneapolis-moline.com and clicking on their paint section. There is a very long and detailed article on MM paint. I know you don't want Prairie Gold on your M-5. According to that article the early M-5's used Power Yellow and the late ones used Energy Yellow, with each using a different brown. Only thing I know is that all the M-5's I've run across used the much lighter Energy Yellow. Power Yellow was a darker, orangeier sort of Prarie Gold, some people call it pumpkin orange. Hope this helps.

For the right color match, contact Ron Duff, Dennison Auto Supply and Machine Shop, 410 South Main Street, Dennison, Iowa 51442, Phone 712-263-3116, or 800-876-3116 also, ask for Jean. I copied this information from the Dupont Tractor and Implement paint code manual.
