I need some really bright silver paint for a hood ornament. It should dry to look like chrome. Any ideas on what type to use? Silver enamel for plastic model applications does not have enough shine.

Thanks for the suggestions gents. Here's what it's going on ... the back of the triple diamond ornament on a '50 International L-110 pickup.

I got something at the hobby lobby kind of in that order and used it on a sewing machine for chrome parts. Not sure how well or long it will hold up but is just a look at deal not a user. Might be worth a try.

I bought some High Temp Silver Paint at the Local auto parts store (O'reilly) the other day for the manifold. It turned out to have a real close chrome look. It is nice and bright and shiney..
It is not chrome, but a good substitute. I just happend to find it by accident.. Don't have the brand name, but I'm sure it was from O'reilly's and was either in gray or silver... HTH

There is some sort of chrome paint that is made of aluminium. It is shiny but I don't know how long it'll last. The painted surface shouln't be touched by hands because it'll lose its shine.
