Hello,

Excuse me for not checking the archives before posting...but...is there anything better than diesel feul for loosning up 65 years of caked on grease mixed with dirt? Im restoring a 1937 Cletrac that had a front seal leak and has grease caked in very hard to reach places on the tracks. Im sure I could fill a 5 gallon bucket with what I have scraped off thus far. This tractor sat for nearly 40 years in a shed and the grease is very hard. Engine Bright barely touched it and Ive used a steamer/pressure washer with de-greaser with little progress. Worth note is that I dont want to lose too much of whats left of the original paint. Diesel fuel has softened it up but I guess Im looking for the golden bullet.

Thanks,

Steve

A product called "Super Clean" by Castrol works pretty good. Let it soak and penitrate to get better results.

Found that out the hard way...washed it off almost immediatly and still took the sheen off the paint.

A product called "Super Clean" by Castrol works pretty good. Is easy on the paint and plastic/rubber parts too.
