Hi,
I have a red belly Cockshutt 570 Super that was painted blue by the previous owner. I'd like to remove the blue from the body without risking sandblasting. I've tried oven cleaner on the motor and parts of the tub, however, after washing off the cleaner it just turns kinds of white/grayish. Paint is still there. I just want to get a good clean surface that I can gun with an HVLP unit. Any help will be appreciated.

I stripped mine down to the steel using paint stripper and a pressure washer. Just brush the stipper on wait about 30 minutes and blast it off. Worked great for me. I too was leery of sandblasting the tractor.

I have good results with a knotted wire wheel on my grinder. Goes right to the metal, fast.

Hi,
Looks like serious business. Think I might give it a try and see what happens.
Thanks for the info.
