Urethane Paint over Urethane ClearCoat?

I recently painted my tractor. I used a good synthetic enamel, then clear coated it with a urethane two part clear coat too.

No problem, but I was ina dim stall and now that it is rolled outside I see some missed or lightly sprayed areas where the paint should be darker and sprayed better.

Can I spray a urethane paint with hardener over the clearcoat?

Or synthetic enamel over the urethane clear coat?

I would prefer to go the urethane paint route.

I clearcoated about 4 days later. I am having good adhesion.

I assume you used a hardener in the synthetic enamel...anyway, if you didn't have a problem with lifting after applying the urethane clear, you shouldn't have problem applying urethane color on top of the clear. Scuff sand the clear and have at it.

Since no one has answered -- As I said in the post below, I don't like mixing different kinds of paint. However, ask your question on the forum on www.autobodystore.com. This is an automotive forum, and you will get an answer to your question, I hope you have good luck.

You should be alright to recoat with the urethane, but make sure you sand with a 400 or finer grit paper to get good adhesion. If you have a problem with lifting, let it cure out for a little while and spray a coat of non-sanding sealer and then recoat with the urethane. Dave.
