This worked great for me, maybe someone else can benefit: I'm restoring a '48-Ford 8N. I'm painting pieces as I go along so I needed a temporary paint booth that would keep overspray from getting all over everything in my 2-car garage. I made an 8'x10' rectangular frame from electrical conduit. I then made four flat-steel hooks that hook over the top edge of my garage door tracks. Using light weight chain the frame hangs below the garage door tracks (garage door opens without having to remove the frame). Inexpensive ($2ea. at IKEA) plastic shower curtains hang from the track and are connected to each other with large paper clips. The top is covered with a clear plastic dropcloth. Across one corner of the conduit frame sits a wooden frame that holds a 20"x20" box fan ($27 at Graingers). Lastely, the box fan sits on top of a pleated paper duct filter (also at Graingers). If the conduit frame is adjusted so the shower curtains are slightly off the floor they don't billow in. I open a couple of small windows to vent the fumes but the booth does a nice job of handling the overspray. When you're done for the day just flip the shower curtains up on top of the frame, open the garage door and drive the car in. Total cost about $50.

Hi Whooly,

Great idea! I take it the fan is in the ceiling of the booth and blowing up, into the space, with the overspray being captured by the filter? If you can, post a picture so others can see.
