Hi,
I'am just starting out restoring tractors.
I talked to some bodyshops and, one said that
he likes Dupont S-30 primer because it go on thick and fills in small scratchs.I was just
wondering if it is forth a flip.

Thanks all.

Hi Joshua,

Are you sure about that S-30? DuPont used to market a 30S Hi Speed lacquer primer-surfacer for spot repairs only. I don't think they still make it...at least I don't see it on their website. They do market a 131S lacquer type primer-surfacer called "fill and sand" that is used for filling sand scratches and the like, not only for spot repairs but for overalls as well. If you want to avoid isocyanates and not bust your savings account, that is the product I would recommend in the DuPont line.

Don't pile it on though. Use multiple coats with adequate drying between coats. It will dry quite fast since it is a lacquer product. I don't believe they recommend topcoating with a urethane, although I have done so successfully in the past. In any event, if you are avoiding the isos, that won't be a concern.
