I am finishing a JD-B. I have the sheet metal repainted and ready to reinstall. Have taken off everything that will come off and glass beaded and repainted. The tractor has a solid paint job that probably is 10yrs old. How should I proceed from here. Can I scuff, prime and paint over the old paint or take it all off. I want the tractor to be show quality but not Expo.

I would say that as long as the existing paint is still solidly bonded to the tractor you will be fine just scuffing and painting over it. If the paint is peeling at all you need to take if off or it will peel off later and will take your new paint with it.

be sure to use a good primer/sealer between old and new paint to prevent any lifting problems
