Which paint would work best? Factory, DuPont, etc...? It's my first tractor restoration job so any tips on restoring/painting it would be helpful. Thanks.

I don't think there is any "best" paint although some are better than others. I have used the Case International Iron Guard paint in the past and it is a pretty good product for the money. For not alot more money you can step up to a single stage urethane paint that is generations ahead of the Iron Guard paint, I use PPGs Omni line of single stage urethanes, red is about $70/gallon compared to $35 for the Iron Guard so I think it is well worth the money. I used the urethane on our 706 last winter and after over 200 hours the paint on the platform even still looks like new when the Iron Guard would have been worn off a long time ago. I used the Omni epoxy primer as a sealer under the paint on the frame and I used a primer surfacer on the sheet metal so I could sand it smooth. I plan on using alot more of the urethane paints in the future and will save the Iron Guard paint for projects that don't need a really high quality finish. The PPG paint code for the IH red (2150) is 71310 and for the 935 white is 8665.

The code you gave for IH-935 White is wrong.

PPG-8665 is for IH-901 White.

Thanks for correcting me, I was told that was the code for IH white and I assumed it was 935. I did notice today that the 8665 on the 706 was a different tint than the 935 on the 1066, the 8665 is more of a cream color.
