Paint removal

I have a D-14 allis chalmers. I was wondering if i dint want a show quality finish would it work to prime and paint over old paint on the chassis of the tractor? I will remove as much paint as i can with a powerwasher and wire brush. What would i use for primer?and paint? This is the first time ive ever tyied to paint a tractor and could us any tips you guys have.

Rick I have restored many antique tractors and the easy way to prep is to use a wire wheel on a hand grinder, after you claen up all the grease, but if you want to do the sheet metal, you need to use a D.A sander to knock off the biggest part of the rust/paint,then use a sandable primer spraying several coats,(sand,then primer, light sand pimer, spay again light sand, spay again) do this untill sheet metal is smooth then light sand again before you do your final paint, you should put 3 to4 light coats of paint or untill surface is covered. hope this helps, good luck shawn
