I have a 1946 Farmall bn that i'm trying to paint and am having a little trouble. I had the sheetmetal sandblasted and primed. I then applied several coats of enamel. The paint goes on ok but dries way to fast and by the time you get to the other half of the part your painting, the first half is already dry. Then the overspray gets on it and it isn't shinny anymore... the outside temp is in the low 70's. is it to warm? how can i get a nice even finish without the spray marks? i tryed putting on a clearcoat today with the same results.. any advice would be appreciated

JOHN, I HAVE DONE A LOT OF TRACTORS AND I PAINT THEM FOR 2 DEALERSHIPS LOCALY. I HAVE HAD THIS HAPPEN ALSO. YOU COULD TRY A SLOW DRYING THINNER.
I HAD ONE ONCE THAT THE PRIMER WASN'T DRY ENOUGH BEFORE PAINTING. I EVEN HAD TO RUN COLD WATER ON ONE TO MAKE IT CURE OUT ENOUGH TO WET SAND AND THEN RECOAT. BUT IF YOUR PAINT IS DRYING TO FAST IT SOUNDS LIKE YOU'RE USING TO FAST OF THINNER.
HERE'S ONE OTHER THING YOU COULD TRY ALSO THAT I LIKE TO DO ANYWAY IS I SPRAY MY PAINT AS THICK AS YOUR GUN CAN SPRAY IT, TURN UP YOUR AIR PRESSURE AND ADJUST YOUR FLUID VALVE SO IT CAN DRAW THE THICKER PAINT OUT. TRY IT ON A SCRAP PIECE FIRST BUT I THINK THIS WILL WORK. LET ME KNOW IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS THAT I COULD HELP WITH.
