Supposed to be used instead of hardener. Label doesn't have isocyanites on it. Is it worth trying?

I'v seen it mentioned on woodworking forums.
You might try posting the question in the forums at www.woodcentral.com and/or www.homesteadfinishing.com. Good luck

If it's mixed drinks you're after you can do no better than Canada Dry.

I have not heard of it. The label may not mention isocyanates. For this you have to read the MSDS. However, if it is a legitimate product and indeed does not have iso's, the label should read something like: use an appropriate air purifying respirator, or a positive pressure (supplied air) system. If it does contain isos, it should read positive pressure, and not mention the air purifying (twin cartridge) respirator. I did not know this until it was mentioned by Rod(NH), so I give him credit.

After doing a Google search, it appears that this product has been around a long time. Used mostly to speed drying of wood paints. I also found a Model T site where it was mentioned. I don't think it is meant to be used with modern paints -- Where did you read about or see it? You are right about it being iso free, but I doubt if it is compatible with modern automotive paint, I don't know.

I ran across it at ACE Hardware. The can says for enamel paint. It doesn't specify wood or metal.

I doubt seriously if it is designed for automotive paint -- I'll see if I can find it next time I'm in our ACE store.
