Is this site FANTASTIC or what? Kim has really got her stuff together!

Have an Oliver 550 Dsl needing some TLC this winter. On the left front corner of the hood (covers radiator) I have a dent I'm not sure how to remove. It is right on the crown of the corner - about 1/2" deep & nearly perfectly round. Looks like someone smacked the corner with a small ball peen hammer. How do I remove or fill this ding? Thanks in advance.

I would use what is called the hunt and peck method. 40 years ago or more a retired body man showed me how to take large dint out of the front fender of a 1940 Ford coupe. No filler was used.

The dint is pounded out from the back side without pounding past the original surface. A light coat of primer is sprayed over the dinted area. Using a sanding block sand untill the high spots are shiny. You then use a body pick hammer or such to hunt the low spots on the outer surface and peck them from the under side up to where the sanding block will remove the coat of primer. The areas that have been pecked to much will have to be pecked back down. If you get in big of a rush and streach the dint as you pound it out to where you have a slight buldge the metal can be shrunk by heating the area and applying a rag with cold water to the under side while lightly taping the outer surface back down.
It takes a little time but this along with led was how it was done before bondo.
