Hi guys...I'm doing some research on tractors throughout the years for a class project on agriculture and I wanted to see if I could get some info...

I was wondering if any of you could tell me exactly when most companies started painting their tractors that reddish-orange that a lot of tractors are...who was the first to use that color?

thanks for any and all help!

Paul

Nuffield Universal tractor was introduced in December 1948 by Morris Motors Ltd in United Kingdom. This British tractor was orange-red colour.

JI Case started the Flambeau Red series in 1939, but before they made their debut, Allis Chalmers was already producing tractors that were painted Persian Orange. (I'm sure if you go to the Allis Board, someone will be ableto tell you when that started.)

As far as my memory goes, which isn't very far, the first reddish-orange on I can think of was J.I.Case, back in the early 50's or late 40's. SC case was Flambeau Red. I'm not sure if the earlier ones were this color or not.
