Hi Thomas, Basically, it's strip, clean with a degreaser, prime and then paint. There are variations, one being the use of a surfacer on sheetmetal between the priming and painting to fill in any scratches from sanding. I assume you are talking spraying and not brush work. The materials will depend on what you have available for personal safety equipment and how much you want to spend. If you don't have a fresh air respirator system ($400-$500), that will limit your choice of materials unless you want to play fast and loose with your health (my opinion here - others may advise differently). You can do quite nicely, even with a brush, without spending a lot of money (and do it safely) but you have to carefully select the specific materials that would be best for your method of application. And you have to be aware of the limitations of the materials you do use. Post back with some more details of your desires and the equipment you have available and you will probably get some more specific recommendations as to materials and process. I don't think anyone is ignoring you. Your questions are understandable but quite open ended. It could take a small book to explore the various possibilities :o). Rod
