just started tearing down an old tractor to restore, question is, after I bead blast the parts and use air to blow out the excess medea,(bolt holes and such) what should I use to clean the medea dust off the parts before prime and paint, or will the air pressure be enough? I want it to look as nice as possible. thanks for any info.

For my paintwork I have come across a cleaner called Red Rage. I got it through my Sherman Williams dealer. (5 gals @ $35.00) It's very strong , needs to be diluted and you'll want to wear gloves. I can use it with a red 3M Scotch Brite pad over existing paint for prepaint prep. Mixed 50/50 it will take off all grease, wax and dust. And for some reason I dont have as many dust problems while painting as I used to.

I keep some mixed up in a 2 gal garden sprayer and some weaker solution in a bucket with a stiff brush and the scuff pad.

Just because it's sandblasted does not mean it's clean. Blow it off, then wire brush it. The wire brush will remove some of the embedded particles--some may think this is unneccessary, fine with me. Then use PPG DX330 or DX440 wax and grease remover (stronger) and brush or wipe until clean. You will be surprised how dirty it is.
